The relaxing pace of the countryside in Cilento

The Cilento represents a veritable treasure chest in which the ancient heart of Southern Italy's Campania region is conserved. A landscape unchanged by the passage of time, scattered with tiny villages and ancient stone, the Cilento is home to some of the world's most important monuments; sites of great historic and artistic interest such as Paestum, Velia and the Padula Charterhouse, and to wonders of nature among which the Caves of Pertosa, the National Nature Reserve of the Cilento and the Marine Park.
Immersed in the coastal countryside of Cilento, in the Cilento National Park, just a few kilometers away from the beaches , Le Favate country residence is the kind of place which, once you've found it, you'll never want to leave!
Near the sea, in a wonderful landscape, in an area which is steeped in history, is the Le Favate estate The house, the chapel, and the water mill which were builts in 1600 are still, miraculously intact, and stand surrounded by old olive groves in an estate of 100 hectares.
Here you will find a place and a way of life you thought had long ago. Our house has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It has been restored traditionals materials, there are massive beams and handmade terracotta floors.

The Rooms are simply but stylishly furnished: having telefone, television, and private services, with bath and/or shower. There are fireplaces or wood burning stoves in the room. The original stone staircase leads to a dove cote. There is a spacious restaurant, a games room and the lounge with it’s huge fireplace is a pleasant place to relax in. The old cellars now contain a room for meeting or conference.
The Mediterranean diet always had traditional Cilentan cookery as it’s origin, the Restaurant it is available for both our guests and the public and is suitable for Events and Ceremonies.
The main ingredients for the farmhouse kitchen come from our own produce and prepared using traditional methods and recipes. We offer typical tastes of Campania. “Le Favate" is a working farm. On the state we rear chickens, rabbits and pigs. We produce excellent quality olive oil an wine from our vineyards.

Sport, Wellness or Relax ?
Steeped in history, immersed in nature, Le Favate, in the heart of Cilento, is one of Campania most fascinating period residences ever.
If you're an outdoor type, you're going to love Le Favate! Set in park, the farmhouse is surrounded by ancient woods, lush green meadows, and crystal clear streams: making it ideal for walkers, bicycles and horse riders.
The possibilities for relaxation are many. The area is able to offert sport, art-culture and sea. For those who enjoy the countyside, there are wonderful walking opportunities, and horse riding through the surrounding olive groves.
All the important archaeological sitos of Magna Graecia, Paestum and Velia are easily accessible. Near by nearby and within easy driving distance are such well know places as the Charterhouse of Padula, Capri, Palinuro and many, very old and picturesque villages.

The gateway to the National Park of Cilento, Paestum is a fascinating melting pot bubbling with antiquities, rare natural beauty, and the unmistakable flavors of the Mediterranean.
It is no surprise if the Grand Tour often began right here, where Archeology is written with a capital 'A', and testifies to the passage of not one, not two, but three ancient civilizations in the area: the Greeks, Lucans and Romans.
Not to be missed: the archaeological site of Paestum, perhaps the most beautiful city of the Magna Graecia, and awarded world heritage status by UNESCO for its magnificent Doric temples, and the National Archaeological Museum of Paestum.
The town of Capaccio is situated in a splendid panoramic position dominating the temples of Paestum and a large section of the gulf of Salerno. Religious buildings, dating back to the 1700's, include the convent of the Capuchin monks, which houses the Museum of the Great Tour, and the Church of St.Pietro Apostolo , this latter adorned with fascinating frescoes.
